Assigned to 21st Torpedo Boat Division, 2nd Base Force, Third Fleet.

23-29 November 1941:
Steamed from Sasebo via Terashima to Takao.

6-8 December:
Departed Takao, then with Batan Island invasion force.

22 December:
With Lingayen invasion force, then to Takao.

29 December 1941-2 January 1942:
Escorted convoy from Takao to Camiguin Island.

4-8 January:
Escorted convoy from Camiguin to Davao.

9-12 January:
Departed Davao, then with Tarakan invasion force.

12-17 January:
Steamed from Tarakan to Davao and back, then patrol/escort duties.

10 March:
21st Torpedo Boat Division deactivated; reassigned to 24th Special Base Force, 2nd Southern Expeditionary Fleet, Southwest Area Fleet.

20-24 March:
Escorted oiler HAYATOMO from Davao to Ambon.

30 March:
Departed Ambon, escorting Western New Guinea invasion force, for seizure of Sorong, Manokwari and Sarmi/Hollandia, then patrol/escort duties in that region.

5-10 August:
Escorted shipping from Ambon to Surabaya, then engine repairs.

21-29 August:
Arrived Singapore, then docked for more repairs.

9-15 September:
Escorted shipping from Singapore to Ambon.

16 September:
Departed Ambon, then resumed Western New Guinea-area patrol/escort duties.

6 January 1943:
Medium Damage: in air attack near Kai Island; left dead in the water.

7-12 January:
Assisted by HATSUKARI, towed to Ambon, then emergency repairs.

29 January-6 February:
Towed from Ambon to Surabaya, then docked for repairs.

20-27 May:
Escorted convoy from Surabaya to Ambon.

1 June:
Reassigned to 2nd China Expeditionary Fleet.

11-19 June:
Steamed from Ambon to Hong Kong.

8 July:
Departed Hong Kong, then Formosa-Amoy convoy escort duties.

12-23 September:
Docked at Mako for repairs.

26 September:
Departed Mako, then resumed Formosa-Amoy convoy escort duties.

1 October:
Reassigned to 1st Surface Escort Division, Southwest Area Fleet.

11 October:
Departed Takao, then Formosa-Manila convoy escort duties.

15 November:
1st Surface Escort Division reassigned to General Escort Command.

27 November:
Minor Damage: in air attack northeast of Amoy.

11-26 February 1944:
Arrived Sasebo, then docked for repairs.

10 April:
Reassigned to 4th Surface Escort Division, Sasebo Naval District.

17 April:
Departed Sasebo, then patrol/escort duties out of that base.

22-31 May:
Arrived Sasebo, then docked for repairs.

17-28 September:
Escorted convoy from Sasebo via Shanghai and Foochow to Keelung.

30 September-15 October:
Escorted convoy from Keelung via Shanghai to Sasebo.

18 November:
Departed Sasebo, then Japan-Okinawa-Formosa convoy escort duties.

1 March 1945:
Minor Damage: by aircraft of TF 38, at Amami-O-Shima.

13 March:
Departed Kagoshima, then resumed Japan-Okinawa-Formosa convoy escort duties.

24 March:
Sunk: by aircraft of TF 58, while escorting convoy in East China Sea, 230 miles SE of Shanghai (28-25 N, 124-32 E).

10 April 1945:
Removed from Navy List.
