Initial Command Structure:
Ship's captain: Lieutenant Commander Yamana Hiroo [55] (prev. C.O. HATSUKARI). Assigned to Ominato Guard District.

8 December 1941:
Departed Ominato for Muroran (Hokkaido), then patrol/escort duties around Atsugishi.

10 April 1942:
Reassigned to Yokosuka Naval District.

10-13 April:
Steamed from Ominato to Yokosuka.

12 April:
Lieutenant Commander Yamana (to C.O. OBORO) relieved by Lieutenant Commander Suetsugu Nobuyoshi [58].

25 April:
Departed Yokosuka, escorting convoy to Kushimoto (Honshu).

25 May:
Departed Yokosuka, then antisubmarine patrolling off Tokyo Bay.

2-24 June:
Arrived Yokosuka, then docked for upkeep.

2 July:
Departed Yokosuka, then resumed patrol/escort duties off Tokyo Bay.

30 September:
Departed Yokosuka, then patrol/escort duties off Northern Honshu.

4 November:
Departed Yokosuka, then patrol/escort duties off Tokyo Bay.

7 November:
Lieutenant Commander Suetsugu (to C.O. WAKABA) relieved by Lieutenant Commander Iuchi Gisaburo [58] (prev. C.O. HASU).

9-10 January 1943:
Departed Yokosuka to resume antisubmarine patrolling off Tokyo Bay. Sunk: torpedoed by USS TRIGGER (SS-237) off Katsura Lighthouse, 35 miles southeast of Yokosuka (35-02 N, 140-12 E). Number of survivors unknown, but Lieutenant Commander Iuchi killed in action.

1 March 1944:
Removed from Navy List.
