Name Translation: "Beach Moon"

26 December 1944:
Completed at Maizuru; assigned same date to Desron 11, Combined Fleet, for training. Ship's captain: Commander Higashi Hideo [52] (prev. C.O. OYASHIO).

21 January 1945:

Arrived Kure, then training in the Inland Sea.

15 March:

Assigned as flagship to Escort Squadron 31, Second Fleet.

6 April:

With KAYA and MAKI, escorted YAMATO from Tokuyama as far as Bungo Strait.

20 April:

Escort Squadron 31 transferred to Combined Fleet.

April-August:
Remained in Inland Sea through end of war; weathered attacks by enemy aircraft without damage.

5 October 1945:

Removed from Navy List.

June 1947:

Turned over to U.S. as DD-934; later scrapped.
