YAMASHIO MARU was built to provide anti-submarine air cover for convoys going from Southeast Asia to the homeland.. She was to be equipped with eight Kokusai Ki-76 ("Stella") aircraft. She was bombed and sunk in Yokohama harbor n Feb '45.
