TECHNICAL DATA

Description: Single-engined interceptor fighter of canard configuration. All-metal construction.

Accomodation: Pilot in enclosed cockpit.

Powerplant:

One Mitsubishi [Ha-43] 12 (MK9D) eighteen-cylinder air-cooled radial, rated at 2,130 hp for take-off, 2,020 hp at 1,180 m and 1,160 hp at 8,700 m, driving a six-blade metal pusher propeller (J7W1).
One 900 kg thrust Ne-130 axial-flow turbojet (J7W2).

Armament:

Four forward-firing nose-mounted 30 mm Type 5 cannon.
External stores: two 60 kg or four 30 kg bombs.
