Completed as a passenger cargo ship in 1941 for Kita Nippon Kisen K. K., Toyko. HIE MARU was requisitioned by the
Imperial Army (IJA) in 1941 and saw action in the invasion of British Borneo. HIE MARU was sunk by a Dutch submarine in Dec '41.
