CANADIAN SPINNER, later FUKUJU MARU, was completed in 1919 as a cargo ship for the Canadian National Steamships Ltd., Montreal.
FUKUJU MARU was sunk in Nov '44 by an American submarine in the S China Sea.

CANADIAN SPINNER's sister was CANADIAN PIONEER, later Italian RAPIDO. In '44, RAPIDO hit a mine and sank 3 nms S of Grado, N Adriatic Sea.
