YATSUSHIRO MARU - Class Auxiliary storeship


(YATSUSHIRO MARU, prewar)

This class consists of YATSUSHIRO, AZUCHI, MAMIYA, SAPPORO, TESHIO and KITAMI MARUs, all completed in 1930 for Kyodo Gyogyo K.K. All were requisitioned by the IJN. YATSUSHIRO MARU was converted to an auxiliary subchaser and the others to auxiliary stores ships. All were sunk from various causes between Apr ’42 and Mar ‘45.
