Yamashimo Maru Class Auxiliary Repair Ship
(YAMASHIMO MARU prewar in Yamashita Kisen's service)

Requisitioned by the IJN in 1941, YAMASHIMO MARU was converted to a transport from a cargo ship. Initially, she served in the Dutch East Indies and then the Solomons. In 1943, she was converted to a repair ship. YAMASHIMO MARU was torpedoed and sunk near Saipan in Febuary 1944.
