VISIGOTH (later NANKA MARU) was completed as a cargo ship in 1906. In 1941, NANKA MARU was requisitioned by the Imperial Army (IJA) as a troop transport.
In 1944, NANKA MARU was torpedoed by an American submarine and sunk east of Cape Gamtjaka, Halmahera, NEI (Indonesia).
