TOYO MARU-Class Auxiliary Transports

(TOYO MARU prewar)

This class consisted of six ships: TOYO, KAISHO, MITAKESAN, KUNISHIMA and SHINYO MARUs and TOYO MARU No. 2, completed between 1937 and 1938 for different shipping companies. All were requisitioned by the IJN in 1941 and torpedoed and sunk by American submarines between 1942 and 1944.
