TOKUSHIMA MARU was completed as a cargo ship in 1913. Her sister was TOTTORI MARU. Both TOKUSHIMA and TOTTORI MARUs were requisitioned by the IJA while TOTTORI MARU was also later requisitioned by the IJN. Both were torpedoed and sunk by American submarines in the Pacific War.
