TERUKAWA MARU ex-NORA MAERSK, prewar in Kawasaki’s colors)



Completed in 1934 in Denmark as NORA MAERSK, she was destroyed by an accidental fire in 1936. The hulk was sold and rebuilt in Japan. Renamed TERUKAWA MARU, she was requisitioned by the IJN in 1942 and converted to a fleet tanker. TERUKAWA MARU was torpedoed and sunk while en route from Truk to Saipan in December 1943.
