TARUSHIMA MARU Class Auxiliary Transports

(TARUSHIMA MARU prewar)

This class consists of TARUSHIMA and YAMAFUKU MARUs respectively completed in Feb ‘38 and Jul ’40 for Hamane Shoten K.K. and Yamashita Kisen K.K. Both were requisitioned by the IJN and converted to auxiliary transports. They were both torpedoed and sunk, YAMAFUKU MARU in Nov ’43 and TARUSHIMA MARU in Jan ’44.
