PICTURE WANTED

This class consists of TAKUNAN MARU only. Completed in Jun ‘40 as a 751-tons cargo ship, fitted with refrigeration machinery, for Taiwan Kaiun K.K. She was requisitioned by the IJN in Jul ’41 and registered in Nov ’41 as an auxiliary stores ship. She was torpedoed and sunk by an American submarine in Oct ’44 W Torishima, Izu Shoto.

From 29 August 1944: One 8cm/40cal deck gun, three Type 96 25mm guns with shields, five Type 93 13mm MGs, one Type 92 7.7mm type A MG and eight Type 2 DCs.
