8 December 1944:
Urasaki Zosensho. Laid down at Kawanami Kogyo K.K. Shipyard as the 950-ton T.103-class landing ship tank No. 1573.

15 February 1945:
Launched.

28 February 1945:
Numbered T.173. Rerated a 2nd Class Yusokan.

1 April 1945:
Completed and reassigned to the IJN. Attached to Sasebo Naval District. Assigned to 31st Transport Squadron of the Combined Fleet. Reserve Lt Arai Yuzo (former CO of NARIU) is the CO.

7 April 1945:
Departs Sasebo for a supply run to Amami-Oshima, returns to Sasebo thereafter.

21 May 1945:
Departs Sasebo.

22 May 1945:
SW of Kyushu. Attacked by carrier aircraft from USS BENNINGTON (CV-20) and HORNET (CV-12) and sunk at 29-45N, 129-10E.

10 August 1945:
Removed from the Navy List.
