5 February 1944.
Numbered T.157 and provisionally attached to Kure Naval District.

12 May 1944:
Mukojima. Laid down at Hitachi K.K. shipyard as Hull No. 1557, a 950-ton T.103-class landing ship tank.

9 June 1944:
Launched.

19 August 1944:
T.157 is completed, commissioned in the IJN and assigned to Combined Fleet. Reserve Lt Sato Yasuhiko is the CO. Departs Onomichi for trials and gunnery exercises in Inland Sea, returns to Onomichi later tahat day.

20 August 1944:
Departs Onomichi for Kure, arrives later that day. Adjusts compass declination en route.

25 August 1944:
Departs Kure to conduct cargo unloading exercise at Okinoshima. Returns later that day.

3 September 1944:
Departs Kure for Yokosuka.

5 September 1944:
Arrives at Yokosuka. Embarks fuel and fresh water.

Rerated a 2nd Class Yusokan. Reattached to Kure Naval District.

6 September 1944:
Embarks provisions.

8 September 1944:
Commences preparations for a transport run to Iwo Jima. Transferred to Yokohama.

12 September 1944:
Departs Yokohama via Tateyama for Iwo Jima. Arrives at Tateyama that evening.

16 September 1944:
Departs Tateyama for Iwo Jima.

19 September 1944:
Arrives at Iwo Jima, unloads her cargo, embarks sick Army personnel and passengers.

20 September 1944:
Departs Iwo Jima for Yokosuka.

22 September 1944:
Arrives off Yokosuka, where the sick passengers are transferred ashore.

23 September 1944:
Proceeds to Yokosuka naval base, where the rest of the passengers are debarked.

24 September 1944:
Drydocked in drydock No. 5.

9-11 October 1944:
Embarks fuel, ammunition and provisions.

12 October 1944:
Departs Yokosuka for Tateyama, adjusting compass declination en route. Arrives later that day.

14 October 1944:
Departs Tateyama on a transport run to Iwo Jima and Chichi Jima.

16 October 1944:
Arrives at Iwo Jima, unloads her cargo, embarks sick Army personnel and passengers. Departs for Chichi Jima later that day.

17 October 1944:
Arrives at Chichi Jima. Embarks new cargo, replenishes fuel and fresh water.

18 October 1944:
Departs Chichi Jima for Iwo Jima.

19 October 1944:
Arrives at Iwo Jima, unloads her cargo. Departs Iwo Jima for Chichi Jima later that day.

20 October 1944:
Arrives at Chichi Jima, embarks new cargo and replenishes fuel.

23 October 1944:
Departs Chichi Jima for Iwo Jima.

24 October 1944:
Arrives at Iwo Jima, unloads her cargo. Departs Iwo Jima for Chichi Jima later that day.

25 October 1944:
Arrives at Chichi Jima, embarks new cargo and passengers, replenishes fuel.

26 October 1944:
Departs Chichi Jima for Iwo Jima.

27 October 1944:
Arrives at Iwo Jima, unloads her cargo and transfers passengers ashore.

28 October 1944:
Departs Iwo Jima for Chichi Jima.

29 October 1944:
Arrives at Chichi Jima, embarks new cargo, replenishes fuel and fresh water.

30 October 1944:
Departs Chichi Jima for Iwo Jima.

31 October 1944:
Arrives at Iwo Jima, unloads her cargo. Departs Iwo Jima for Chichi Jima later that day.

1 November 1944:
Arrives at Chichi Jima, embarks new cargo. Departs Chichi Jima for Iwo Jima later that day.

2 November 1944:
Arrives at Iwo Jima, unloads her cargo and embarks passengers and cargo. Departs Iwo Jima for Tateyama later that day.

4 November 1944:
Arrives at Tateyama.

5 November 1944:
Departs Tateyama for Yokosuka, arrives later that day. Unloads cargo, transfers passengers ashore.

7-16 November 1944:
Drydocked in drydock No. 4.

16 November 1944:
Proceeds to a provisional anchorage off Yokosuka.

21 November 1944:
Following the outbreak of parathypoid fever among the crew, T.157 is transferred to Nagahama, where her crew is quarantined at the local naval hospital.

4 December 1944:
Transferred to Yokosuka.

13-14 December 1944:
Embarks fresh provisions, fuel and ammunition.

16 December 1944:
Departs Yokosuka for Yokohama, arrives later that day.

17 December 1944:
Yokohama. Embarks new cargo and additional provisions.

18 December 1944:
Departs Yokohama for Tateyama, but returns later that day as a result of engine failure. Conducts repairs at Yokohama.

19 December 1944:
Departs Yokohama for Tateyama.

20 December 1944:
Arrives at Tateyama.

21 December 1944:
Departs Tateyama on a transport run via Hachijo Jima to Iwo Jima. Arrives at Hachijo Jima later that day.

22 December 1944:
Departs Hachijo Jima for Iwo Jima.

24 December 1944:
Around 1200, at 24-47N, 141-20E, off the south coast of Iwo Jima, T.157 is intercepted by USS CASE (DD-370) and ROE (DD-418). She receives numerous shell hits and a major fire breaks out. The crew manages to beach her in shallow water. At 1410 the order is given to abandon the heavily listing vessel.

25 December 1944:
By 1600, an Army detachment stationed on Iwo Jima manages to put out the fires, but the hull of the T.157 is totally destroyed.

10 March 1945:
Removed from the Navy List.
