SHINFUKU MARU was completed as a cargo ship in 1918 for tfor Kuribayashi Shosen K.K. In 1938, she was sold to to Kishimoto Kisen K. K. and renamed SINHUKU MARU. In 1941, she was requisitioned by the IJA. On 19 December '44 SHINFUKU MARU was bombed and sunk by American aircraft.
