SEIKO MARU Class - Auxiliary netlayer

(SEIKO MARU plan, believed sistership of KOKKO MARU.)

This class consists of SEIKO, KOKKO and TOKO MARUs, completed between Sep ’38 and Dec ‘40 for Sanko Kisen K.K. TOKO MARU was later renamed TOKO MARU No. 1 GO. Dimensionally all three were the same and it is accordingly believed all were sisters but an unverified photo of TOKO MARU showing an engines aft vessels means it is possible that KOKKO MARU and TOKO MARU were of different appearance. All were requisitioned by the IJN and converted to auxiliary netlayers. All were sunk from various causes between Jun and Sep’44.
