SAN LUIS MARU was completed in 1928. Her sister was SAN DIEGO MARU. SAN LUIS MARU was sunk off Indochina after being bombed by Task Force 38's carrier aircraft during "Operation Gratitude" in Jan '45. SAN DIEGO MARU survived the war.
