RYOTOKU MARU-Class Auxiliary Transport


(RYOTOKU MARU prewar)

This class consists of RYOTOKU MARU only, completed in ’38 for Oya Shoji K.K. She was requisitioned by the IJN in Mar ’41 as a general requisitioned transport, released to her owners in May ’41, requisitioned again by the IJN and converted to an auxiliary gunboat in Sep ’41; and converted to an auxiliary transport in Aug ‘42. RYOTOKU MARU was torpedoed and sunk by an American submarine in Sep ’43.
