NISSHO MARU No. 3 Class - Auxiliary netlayer


NISSHO MARU No. 3, prewar (Berend van der Wal Collection)

This class consists of NISSHO MARU No. 3 only, completed in 1928 for Akai Tsunekichi. She was sold in Oct 1934 to Marusho Kaiun K.K. and requisitioned in Nov 1941 by the IJN. Ship was converted the following month to an auxiliary anti-submarine netlayer and she survived the war. Sold to Towa Kisen K.K. in Dec 1954 and renamed TOWA MARU No. 3. Sold to Daiko Kisen K.K. in 1958 and renamed KOKI MARU. Sold to Taihei Shosen K.K. in ’60 and ultimately converted to a barge in 1963.
