NAGARA MARU-Class Auxiliary Transports

The NYK Line's N class consisted of six ships completed in 1934-35: NAGARA, NOTO, NAKO, NOSHIRO, NARUTO and NOJIMA MARUs. The first three were requisitioned by the IJA and used as transports. The other three were requisitioned by the IJN, NOSHIRO MARU as an armed merchant cruiser, NARUTO MARU as an ammunition ship and NOJIMA MARU as a transport. All were bombed or torpedoed, and sunk by American aircraft or submarines between 1942 and 1944.
