MIYO MARU was completed in 1897 as cargo ship HELIOS for D/S A/S Helios, Drammen. Norway. In 1905, she was sold to Nippon Beikoku
K. K, Kobe and renamed MIYO MARU. In '43, she was chartered? by the IJA and converted to a transport. She survived the war.
