Kinjosan Maru Class

In 1941, passenger-cargo ship KINJOSAN MARU was requisitioned by the IJN from the Mitsui Line and converted to an armed merchant cruiser. In May '42, while enroute to Truk, she was torpedoed and sunk by an American submarine. In Jan 43, her sister-ship, KIMPOSAN MARU also was torpedoed and sunk by an American submarine.
