KEISHU MARU - Class Auxiliary Transport

KEISHU MARU was laid down as HENRY KESWICK for Hong Kong & Whampoa Dock Co. Ltd. own service. Requisitioned in Dec ’41 by the British Ministry of War Transport and later that month by the US Army, she was shelled and sunk in Apr ’42. Later seized by the Japanese, she was renamed KEISHU MARU. Registered in the IJN in Apr ’43 as an auxiliary transport, she was bombed and sunk off French Indochina Atoll by USN aircraft in Jan ’45.
