KASHIWA MARU Class - Auxiliary netlayer

This class consists of KASHIWA MARU only, completed in Dec ‘38 for Uwajima Unyu K.K. She was requisitioned in Mar ‘39 by the IJN, released to her owners in Feb ’40 and requisitioned again by the IJN in Nov ’41. Ship was converted that same month to an auxiliary anti-submarine netlayer and was ultimately torpedoed and sunk in Nov ’43 by an American submarine.
