HOREI MARU Class Fleet Salvage and Rescue Vessel

(GM POOLSTER prewar)

GM POOLSTER was built in the East Indies by the Droogdok Maatschappij at Tandjong Priok . Completed in 1939 as patrol boat for the Dutch East Indies Gouvernementsmarine, she was scuttled at Batavia in Mar '42. Raised by the Japanese in Sep '43, she was renamed HOREI MARU and converted to an auxiliary rescue and salvage ship. In Apr '45, HOREI MARU was bombed and sunk at Mako, Pescadore Islands.
