HOKUHI MARU - Class Auxiliary Transport


(INGA prewar, later HOKUHI MARU)

HOKUHI MARU was completed as INGA in Apr ‘04 for A/S D/S Inga (Meier) Kristiania, (Oslo), Norway. Sold to Madrigal & Co., Manila and renamed CETUS in Apr’30. She was scuttled in Dec ‘41 and subsequently refloated by the Japanese and renamed HOKUHI MARU. Registered in the IJN in Jan ’43 as an auxiliary transport, she was bombed and sunk by USAAF aircraft in Mar ’45.
