Hinko Maru Class Transport

(HINKO MARU, prewar)

HINKO MARU was requisitioned by the Imperial Army (IJA) in ca. 1942 as a troop transport. Released by the IJA in April 1944, that same day she was requisitioned by the Imperial Navy (IJN). In Jul '44, she was beached at Chichi-jima (Bonins) and was sunk there by USN carrier aircraft in Aug '44.
