Dogo Maru Class Transport

(Sister ship DOUN MARU)

This class consists of DOGO, DOKAN, DOSHI, BUJO, GAKUJO, EIJO (YEIJO), YOJO, DOUN, SHINJO (SHUNJO), DATE and KEIJO MARUs.
DOGO, DOKAN and DOSHI MARUs were completed as passenger-cargo ships for the Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK) Line. All three were
requisitioned by the IJA. DOGO MARU was sunk in '44 by American aircraft off the Philippines. DOKAN MARU
was sunk in '45 by an American submarine and DOSHI MARU survived the war and was surrendered.
