BANSHU MARU No. 16- Class Auxiliary storeship


(BANSHU MARU No. 16 prewar)

This class consists of BANSHU MARU No. 16, probably completed late 1922 for Nakabe Ikujiro and sold in 1928 to Hayashikane Shoten K.K. She was requisitioned by the IJN in Nov ’40 as a general transport and converted to an auxiliary stores ship in Apr ‘43. She survived the war and was still in service in 1954. Her scrapping date is unknown but likely pre-1972.
