ANYO MARU was completed by Mitsubishi Zosensho, Nagasaki in 1913 as a 9,534 ton passenger/cargo ship built for Toyo Kisen Kaisha, K. K. (TKK) (Oriental Steamship Co.) Yokohama, later taken over by Nippon Yusen Kaisha K..K (NYK) Line. In 1945, ANYO MARU was torpedoed and sunk off Formosa (Taiwan) by American submarines.
